Painted Star Equine Rescue INC. is a family run Horse rescue located in Fort White, FL. We are a 501(c)3 Tax exempt Public charity. All donations are Tax exempt. 
Our Mission is to rescue, retrain and re-home equines that are no longer wanted or useful to their owners and place them in homes where they ARE wanted and needed again. Most Importunely Painted Star Equine Rescue will only adopt a horse to a Loving and positive environment that is mutually beneficial to both horse and human.
What We Do:
Painted Star Equine Rescue INC. rescues horses from being auctioned for slaughter, takes in horses that have been sized by the state of Florida, takes custody of horses abandoned by their owners and takes in Owner surrendered horses . We rehabilitate and train horses for use as companion animals, riding horses and therapy horses that are then available for adoption to the general public with approval. We specialize in Equine behavior psychology , Helping Horses that have been physically and/or mentally abused and horses with dominance issues, helping them to overcome their Insecurities and fears so they can make safe Equine partners and find new loving homes. Painted Star Equine Rescue offers education programs to help educate new horse owners with respect to proper care, management and Natural horsemanship training teniques. Education clinics and demonstrations are presented to the general public on issues such as veterinary care, shoeing, safety, Natural Horsemanship training, riding, and neglect and cruelty to animal issues.

11yr old AQHA registred mare. 14.3hh, brown, very well built mare, Doc Bar Grandaughter. She has really good ground manners, stands tied, good for vet and farrier, lunges, loads in a trainer, plays some of the parelli games. She has a lovely walk and trot under saddle, needs some work at the canter, will trail ride, Work cattle and do Obstical Courses. No Buck, rear, kick or bite. Nice Sweet mare who just needs a home to call her own. Best suited for a Intermediate or up rider $650

18yr old AQHA registred mare. 15.3hh, chestnut, well built, halter bred mare. Good ground manners, ties, good for vet and farrier, lunges, loads in a trailer. Very well trained under saddle, lovely walk, trot and canter. Neck reins, Sidepasses, Can extend or slow down all gaits, had done trail riding, drill team, could do Obstical course Challanges. Very sweet mare, no kick, bite, rear or buck. Best Suited for a Intermediate rider. $700

20yr old POA type pony. Around 13hh and very well built. She is Sound and a very easy keeper. No current heath issues. She was ridden in the past but has sat for several years so will need retraining. Up to date on everything. Free to a Approved home.
