Note: the filly is VERY smart and will not try to nurse unless I am their and have the mare tied, she has learned she will get kicked any other time. So she really is not at any risk of being harmed, the mare is very nice to her filly otherwise... |

3/21/07: Filly is doing great! She is not as dehydrated as she was, still a little but not bad. She is now drinking the foal LAC milk really well out of a bottle every 1 to 2 HRS ( about 16 oz a feeding) along with whatever she gets out of summer the mare while I have her sedated. I was told she needs 3 gallons a day and we got up to 2 1/2 today! So we should hopefully get the whole 3 gallons in her tomorrow, she is really getting good at sucking on the bottle. She whinnies and comes running to me every time I come in to see her, she is such a sweetie, but is a handful, lol. She has allot of attitude. We will be working with her daily and imitating the savvy club DVD’s we have of Pat Parelli training his foal Smart Seven, so hopefully she will grow up well mannered, easy to work with, and non fearful of anything, lol. I will update this web site as much as possible so you can all keep updated on her progress. And feel free to come visit her, just call or E-mail me and I will tell ya when to come over! Also She still is in great need of a Angel if anyone is interested in becoming her angel please e-mail me. Other ways you can help: donate any amount of money, even small amounts help! Donate Foal LAC milk replacer and pellets ( we will be using ALOT of this) you can buy it and drop it off, or have it shipped to me, also my feed store Alachua Farm and Lumber carriers it and you can call and prepay for it and I will pick it up 386-462-3003. Thank you all for your prayers and help, I really have a good feeling that she is going to pull throw this now and become a great pony when she is grown :.> |

Update 3/30/2007: The filly is doing GREAT! The mom ( Summer) is finally letting her nurse!!!!! No more sleepless nights for me:.> The kids at my preschool were really taking advantage of that for awhile, lol ... She is running and playing and having a super time and feeling good. Summer is doing well as well, we were scared she would get an infection from her catheter but she seems to be fine as of today so all is well. She loves the filly and tries her best to nurse her when needed. Although she is still not a great role model for this filly so it will be alot of work to help this filly gain some manners! She has dominated summer and will kick and rear at her ( especially at nursing time when summer still bites her occasionally) . She has a strong survival instinct that’s for sure. But all is well and she will start her training now so we hopefully will not have future problems. Anyone that wants to help is more then welcome to come on over, I could always use the help! Thank you all so much for caring and I will keep this page updated as she grows. At the moment all we need for this filly is a fan we can put in her stall as it is really hot out their. I am looking for one of those big metal ones ( I think they are priced at about $50.00) So if anyone has one they would like to donate she would really appreciate it! Oh and she still would love to have a angel of her own THANKS! |

New pictures taken 4/27/07. She is growing like a weed and boy can she move, she is going to make a nice show pony! Very nice extended trot. She is a very smart little girl and a fast learner. She will know all of level one Parelli before she is even weaned! Well except for the riding part.. I will try to get some pics of her training sessions up soon, its hard to take pictures of me training a horse by myself, lol. But I have a video camera now that I can take still pics from the video so I will get some that way! Check back next weekend for training pics! |

New pics taken 6/07/07: I am really growing up! I am almost as tall as my mom and my step dad ( isaha) now, so I know I will outgrow them! I am shedding out to be a Black, maybe grulla, I am such a pretty girl and I thank everyone who helped me get this far and those who continue to help out with my care. I will be getting my feet trimmed for the 1st time next week! wish me luck:.> It will cost $20.00 and will be well worth it, My feet need to stay in shape so I can grow up strong and balanced. I am now also eating very well on my own. I am going to be started on Equine Jr, to ensure I get proper nutrition for my growing body. It is $14.00 a bag and I know my human mommy would appreciate any help she could get with my feed bill and vet/farrier bills as well. |
