Adoption Procedures: We do things just a bit differently then most rescues. So please read carefully.

Each horse Below is Available for Lease for a One year period. Within this one year Lease period you can make monthly payments on the horse’s Adoption price, Ex: a horse for $240 would be $20 a month, a horse for $672 would be $56 a month. At 6 months and After this one Year Lease period you need to submit to PSER a Health Report that your vet will fill out. If the horse is reported to be in good heath by the vet, Painted Star Equine Rescue will then have you fill out and sign the Transfer of ownership papers and the horse is yours, we will retain by back option. Their are no extra fees involved, the full Adoption fees are paid within that year with the monthly payments.

These are the Steps to Take if one of our horses interests you.

1) E-mail us and fill out our Adoption Questionnaire. We will contact you and will discuss if we feel the horse you are interested in is right for you Or which horse we feel may be a good match. Please also E-mail pictures of where you will be keeping the horse, barn, shelters, fencing, pastures, other horses their, ect..

2) Come out and meet the horse you are interested in. We will spend time grooming, and doing ground work and If this horse is going to be ridden by the adopter we will spend some time riding the horse to make sure it is a correct match. If you are a complete beginner please make sure you are ready to come out for lessons before you take your new friend home.

3) we will do a home visit to check your facilities and make sure they are ready for your new friend to come home to. If they are not we will give you time to make the adjustments and come back for a 2nd check.

4) Fill out the Lease form and come pick up your new friend or we can deliver.

We do allow out of State Adoptions, please e-mail for out of state Adoption Procedures.

Robbi is a 7-year-old Arabian that loves to be loved and really wants his own human. We do not know anything about his past, but he has not yet been started under saddle. He is 100% sound and healthy. He meets you at the gate and is well behaved on the ground, halters, leads, is great for the farrier and vet, and is just a sweet boy who would make a great project or a very loving pasture pet or friend for other horses.

Adoption fee $360.00 at $30.00 per month.

Hello, My name is Gracie. I am a 5yr old Sorrel Pony Mare. I would say I am about 12/13hh. I am a very smart and sensitive filly, a in your pocket type pony. I will make a Experienced Child or small adult a great friend:.) I would not be suitable for a beginner at this time as I can be a bit on the dominate side. And can nip If I feel threatened. I just want to be loved and treated with respect. Has started Parelli Horsemanship Training and is working in Level one. Has decent ground manners. Will stand to be groomed.

$30.00 per month payments or $360.00 one time donation

This is Chance he is a 5 to 7 yr. old Paso Fino Gelding ( was just recently gelded ). He is a very Flashy 14hh Gray with huge movement. He is going to be very smooth and fancy under saddle. Currently not much is know about his training but we will update as we go along. What we do know is that this boy has not been treated well by humans. He was found by a couple of very caring ladies running down a Street. The ladies caught him and took him to a nearby stable until his owner could be found. They went around asking people hoping to track down where he came from and after time searching they found the home where he was thought to have lived. When they knocked on the door they were shocked to learn that Chance had been tied to a Tree as the owner had no fencing! Poor horse had to stand ties to a Tree 24/7 for who knows how long, what is wrong with people! The owner just shrugged and said the horse is fine. Well the ladies who found him told the man that they were going to ask the county if the county felt it was all right to leave a horse tied to a tree 24/7. Well the man then replied no need the horse is yours and shut the door. So One of the ladies contacted PSER and told me of the story and asked if we could help. I told her if she could get him gelded i would take him in. So these super kind ladies got him gelded, kept him until he healed and trailer him over. We are very thankful for caring people like this, Thank you to all who help Chance have a safe and secure future! We will update as his training progresses. Because he was a stallion and has Stallion tendencies at this time  He will need a Experienced rider/handler as he is young and needs a very savvy partner.
