We have currently been contacted by a concerned horse owner who needs a home for 6 paint horse Mares, some overo’s some solid, She is having financial troubles and needs to place them as soon as possible. Most were broodmares and have little training under saddle, but are all very sweet and friendly horses. Sissy,  12  yo buckskin mare with minimal belly white.  Sissy is the lead mare - very dominant.  A good sized horse - about 15 hands, at a fair weight.  She is not a get in your face horse, but she does enjoy grooming.  Sissy was lunged, backed and ridden several times from ages 3 to 5.  She is fast and turns fast.  She did not buck or bolt.  She carries the OLW gene, and has produced a lethal white foal.  I have not bred her since.  Sissy does kick her stall when confined.

Robin, a 9 year old mare.  Sorrel with minimal belly white.  She is Sissy's out of another stallion.  She is a smaller horse and looks pretty good.  She was lunged and backed once as a 3 year old.

Breeze, a 8 year old mare.  She is a flashy bay tovero.  She is Sissy's and full sister to Robin, but looks quite different.  She is a big horse - over 15 hands.  She has had no formal training.  She is beautiful.

Journey is a 4 year old red roan mare with minimal belly white.  She is huge - well over 15 hands.  She is out of Sissy and Cayo.  She is not very friendly, but can be approached and groomed.

Brandy is a 4 year old sorrel mare out of Robin and Cayo.  She is small, well built and looks really good.  She is friendly, but not trained.

Fancy is a 3 year old flashy sorrel overo out of Breeze and Cayo.  She is big, very pretty.  Not trained.

What We Do:
Painted Star Equine Rescue INC. rescues horses from being auctioned for slaughter, takes in horses that have been sized by the state of Florida, and takes custody of horses abandoned by their owners and takes in Owner surrendered horses . We rehabilitate and train horses for use as companion animals, riding horses and therapy horses that are then available for adoption to the general public with approval. We specialize in Helping Horses that have been physically and/or mentally abused, helping them to overcome their Insecurities and fears ( kinda like a horse psychologist) so they can make safe Equine partners and find new forever homes. Painted Star Equine Rescue offers education programs to help educate new horse owners with respect to proper care, management and Natural horsemanship training teniques.  Education clinics and demonstrations are presented to the general public on issues such as veterinary care, shoeing, safety, Natural Horsemanship training, riding, and neglect and cruelty to animal issues. The purposes of Painted Star Equine Rescue are exclusively charitable, scientific or educational.
